Can Anyone Help Me On This?

Does anyone know who the Desmarais and Stronach families are supporting in the leadership race?

Aren't the Demarais's supporting Bob Rae?

Rae's brother is a Vice President of Power Corp. Rumour has it that Power is also backing Iggy so they will tag team for first and second vote.

One way or the other they are going to get their hooks into yet another PM.

Another rumour has it that Stronach is also in on the Power Corp team and that Belinda will claim to be impartial until the very end and then she will hold a big newser to say that she has examined each candidates platform (with her deep deep analytical insights) and will throw her support behind Rae.

Meanwhile various connected corporate donors will be offering free air fare and hotel rooms or slipping unreported cash to cover these things to their delegates- word has it that they will be heavily targeting youth and students - note the big push to talk about "education" .

Can any of the other candidates fight these tactics? I doubt it. PowerCorp has controlled our country ever since Trudeau and they will not give up now. They also have huge huge financial and political and personal interests in many of the upper echelons of canada's media conglomerates.

They own the propaganda machines - they just don't own the PM of our country .....pretty certain they will never be able to buy, extort or comprimise Harper like they did Trudeau, Mulroney, Clark, Chretien and Martin...

So, they and their old boy network including former Power Corp chairman Maurice Strong are going through some pangs in not having unfettered access to the taxpayer's of this country.

Very interesting... yeah, I was reading about Power Corp today in the French newspaper. But how can power support two candidates? Do people actually think Rae will win?

Paul Desmarais' daughter is married to Jean Chretien's son (could be vice versa).

I think it sounds like Rae has more of the right guys. My bias tells me Iggs will win, but with my luck, Rae will win.

By supporting two candidates their supporters they hedge their bets plus they each list the other as their second choice on the ballot which is vitally important as the lowest fall off and the second choices get counted.

Both would get their rewards of course. Whoever PowerCorp backs is just the figurehead anyways. It is the backroomers in the Liberal party who call the shots not the people's choices of who they elect.

That is why it is important to know who is in the back rooms of the candidates.

hearhere,

So Powercorp would financially support both candidates equally and encourage both camps to use each other as their second picks?

Is there one that powercorp prefers?

Looks like it will be between Iggs and Rae, then. I have a feeling it will be Iggs, though since he's less controversial - I saw it in a poll recently.
